KUCHING, July 29 - Sarawak children were urged to seize every opportunity that had been provided by the state government, particularly in the field of education.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that in the effort to pursue education, could significantly improve the state’s residents quality of life.
He said the state government will continue to enhance the human capital capabilities to support the state’s development.
“If we want to break free from poverty, the answer will be through education. When our children are well-educated, they will contribute back to society.
“Every Sarawak children should take the advantage to venture into the aerospace engineering courses that had been offered by the Sarawak state government at the i-CATS University College.
“Yesterday I announced that i-CATS offers an aerospace programme that has already received approval from the Ministry of Higher Education. It is a course involving technology related to aircraft chips and components.
“This is something new, we (the Sarawak Government) wants all Sarawak children to study this new field to develop Sarawak into a high-tech state,” he said during a dinner hosted by the Teochew Sim Clan Association here on Sunday night.
Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and President of the Malaysia Sim Clan Association, Sim Moh Khian.
He added, the Sarawak government will continue to emphasise on the education field to realise its development agenda
