KUALA LUMPUR, 4 February - The Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Johari Abdul called on members of parliament to show maturity in politics and set a good example for the people.
According to Johari, members of the lower house must also continue to obey the rules of the meeting set during the session.
This is in line with the order of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia at the Opening Ceremony of the First Meeting of the Fourth Term of the 15th Parliament, yesterday.
"We pledged to achieve the five principles of Rukun Negara and I hope that the honorable member can set a good example for the people and show maturity in politics."
He said this includes maintaining decency as pledged in this hall."
"Apart from that, His Majesty the King has warned the honorable members about the role of the Yang Berhormat."
"The deputy and I will take action if the honorable members do not comply with the conditions," Johari said at the announcement of the First Meeting of the Fourth Term of the 15th Parliament here.
