PUTRAJAYA, Feb 10- The Home Ministry (KDN) will improve training modules for security guards and auxiliary police to ensure they are aligned with current potential threats.

Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this follows an incident that occurred at a shopping mall recently.

"It is time for these training modules and syllabus to be updated and training requirements for security company teams and auxiliary police to be imporved," he said.

"I will ask the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and his Deputy, Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay to look into this to ensure better security at business complexes and public areas," he added.

He said this to reporters after the ministry's monthly assembly here today.

Saifuddin also said security training needs to be reconsidered according to the current threat landscape, to ensure effectiveness in maintaining public safety.

He also stressed the responsibility for security and safety does not only lie with the police, but business premises management must also take appropriate measures while authorities conduct regular patrols.
