PUTRAJAYA, March 26- The introduction of a minimum 5GB free data quota in conjunction with the first Hari Raya Aidilfitri through the RAHMAH Rebate Incentive aims to foster stronger relationships, according to Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi, who also serves as the MADANI Government Spokesperson, highlighted that this inaugural initiative is a strategic effort by the Ministry of Communications, in partnership with telecommunications service providers, to align with the government’s goal of promoting kindness and support for the people.
"This incentive is designed to help strengthen relationships, particularly through online communication, while also adding to the festive spirit of this year's Aidilfitri celebration," he said during a weekly post-cabinet press conference today.
The initiative offers a data quota for a minimum of 24 hours, subject to the terms and conditions set by the participating telecommunications providers.
Telecom companies taking part in the initiative include CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM Tech, YTL Communications, Pavo Comms, Tune Talk, Red One, Red Tone, and XOX Com.
Fahmi also emphasized that this initiative does not involve government funding but is instead a voluntary effort from the participating telecom service providers.
