Floods: Number of affected residents in Sarawak and Sabah unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 February - A total of 994 people from 334 families remain affected by floods in Sarawak as of 6am today.

This number remains unchanged compared to midnight last night.

According to the Disaster Portal of the National Disaster Control Centre (NDCC), National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), nine temporary evacuation centres (PPS) are still activated in six districts in the state.

"Mukah is worst affected district with 438 evacuees," it said.

"This was followed by Beluru (210 evacuees) and Tatu (197)," it added.

Meanwhile in Sabah, the number of evacuees stood at 1,061 people from 332 families as of 6am today.

It involves six PPS in the state.

The affected districts are Beaufort with 707 evacuees, Kinabatangan (222) and Membakut (102).
