JOHOR BAHRU, March 21- The number of residents affected by the floods in Johor has increased to 11,794 people from 3,554 families as of 4:00 PM today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) reported that this figure shows an increase compared to 10,794 residents from 3,216 families recorded at 12:00 PM earlier today.
A total of 97 temporary evacuation centers (PPS) are operating across five districts, with Johor Bahru remaining the most affected area, involving 4,384 residents.
This is followed by Kluang (2,669), Kota Tinggi (1,801), Pontian (1,791), and Kulai (1,261).
Two roads in Kota Tinggi have also been completely closed due to strong currents, namely Jalan Lukut Cina in Taman Aman and Jalan Mawai Lama.
