PUTRAJAYA, October 28th – Traffic volume is expected to increase from tomorrow with 2.62 million vehicles per day using the main expressways towards the east, north and south coasts in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration this Thursday.
Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) director-general Datuk Sazali Harun said 2.13 million vehicles are expected to use highways under the PLUS group, 198,000 vehicles on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway, 78,220 vehicles on the East Coast Highway Phase 1, 59,220 vehicles on the East Coast Highway Phase 2, and 153,700 vehicles on the West Coast Coast Highway.
"In order to cope with the increase in traffic, LLM has instructed all highway concession companies to make thorough preparations to ensure that the journey of highway users runs safely and smoothly throughout this period," he said in a statement.
Datuk Sazali also informed that the LLM Traffic Management Center will be operating from 7am to 10pm to aid highway users in getting the latest information on traffic conditions and incidents.

He also advised highway users to plan their journeys using the MyPLUS-TTA application, ensure that their Touch 'n Go cards and e-wallets have sufficient balance.
He also reminded motorcyclists that the emergency lane is not an exclusive route for them but is also used by other vehicles in the event of an emergency or a breakdown.
