Civil servants to receive an Aidilfitri bonus of RM500 next week

KAJANG, March 21- Special Financial Aid (BKK) Aidilfitri of RM500 has been announced for civil servants in grade 56 (SSPA-grade 15) and below, while RM250 is for retirees.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the grant will be distributed next week.

"God willing, next week, we will distribute RM500 to each civil servant in Grade 56 and below and RM250 to retirees including veterans, and starting Monday, Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) will also be issued to ease the burden of the people," said the Prime Minister.

He announced this after performing Friday prayers at the Bandar Teknologi Kajang Mosque, here.

He added that the government has allocated almost RM1 billion for this year's BKK Aidilfitri, which will benefit more than 2 million civil servants and retirees.

BKK Aidilfitri will also be paid to contract employees (contract of service, contract for service, daily part-time officers and MySTEP employees.

"A special grant of RM250 will also be paid to government retirees (pensioners, derivative pension recipients, EPF retirees, pensioned veterans and non-pensioned veterans)," the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.

The provision of special assistance is hoped to ease the financial burden on civil servants and retirees and serve as a catalyst to continue serving with dedication.

"In addition to civil servants, the MADANI Government will also control the Payment of the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) Phase 2 for 9 million recipients starting March 24, 2025 (Monday) with an allocation of RM1.7 billion," the statement added.
