BANDA HILIR, March 9 - The Banda Hilir Iconic Bazaar has received an encouraging response, especially from domestic and foreign tourists.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said that the situation has resulted in better returns for traders at the bazaar.

He explained that positive reactions were also received from traders even though this year was the first time the bazaar was organised.

"It is the only Ramadan bazaar that receives an extraordinary number of visitors because it is a tourist area that attracts many visitors and tourists from abroad who are able to shop while seeing the UNESCO historical sites in this area", he said when met after surveying the stalls at the Banda Hilir iconic bazaar.

Rauf added that, given the response received, his side will continue organising the bazaar next year.

The bazaar, which starts from Menara Taming Sari to Jalan Kota, houses approximately 160 traders.
