KUALA KANGSAR, March 9 - The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah received business zakat totaling RM3,064,237.08 million from four corporate companies to the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) here, on Saturday.
Sultan Nazrin also made a payment of zakat fitrah to the General Manager of the Single Business Unit (SBU) of the MAIPk's Zakat and Wakaf Collection, Ahmad Nazim Md Tajuri at the ceremony.
The zakat submission was led by the BELATI company, represented by its director, Mohamad Akmal Datuk Johari, who submitted zakat totaling RM885,000.
Johawaki Plantation Sdn Bhd, represented by its Chief Operating Officer Anizam Bakar, submitted zakat totaling RM290,000 while thePerak State Agricultural Development Corporation represented by Mohd Azhar Mohd Yusof, who is acting as Chief Executive Officer, submitted zakat totaling RM1,089,237.08.
The Perak State Secretary Corporation Darul Ridzuan represented by Acting Chief Executive Officer Zulkefli Abdullah, submitted zakat totaling RM800,000.
Earlier in the afternoon, Sultan Nazrin and Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim visited the Ramadan Bazaar at Arena Square, Kuala Kangsar.
The two spent about 30 minutes visiting the stalls and mingling with traders and visitors, as well as buying some iftar dishes.
