KUALA LUMPUR, January 25- Civil servants can now plan their inheritance and hibah (gifts) through ANGKASA monthly salary deductions.
ANGKASA President, Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah said the initiative helps civil servants in facilitating and managing their inheritance more systematically and effectively.
This indirectly strengthens the public's trust in ANGKASA as an institution that cares about the welfare of the people.
"We know that from a religious point of view, fellow Muslims making a will is something that is highly recommended. This is because we don't want to have any problems when we pass away.
For instance, there will be social problems, problems that cause a rift in relationships or even, an outright altercation.
Ever since MyAngkasa came into existence 11 years ago, we have managed more than half a million cases worth RM240 billion, (as well as) trust money management worth RM300 million," said Abdul Fattah to reporters last night.
He spoke to the media after officiating the MyAngkasa Amanah Berhad (MAAB) Corporate Business Partner Appreciation Night and the Launch of MAAB's new logo in the capital.
More than 300 business partners were in attendance, comprising local banks and cooperatives as well as corporate institutions.
Meanwhile, the number of civil servants, who took out loans, has increased following the implementation of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).
Abdul Fattah explained that the increase was due to a favourable change in the salary structure, which in turn benefited civil servants who want to take out loans.
"To any civil servant who wants to take out a loan, they can apply through cooperatives that legally offers those loans. Since it is from a cooperative, it will be on a credit basis," he added.
