KANGAR, Jan 4- The Perlis Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) successfully implemented 242 Agro MADANI sales programmes in Perlis, throughout last year.

This figure exceeded the initial target of 233 Agro MADANI sales programmes.

Perlis FAMA Director, Mohd Anzara Azizan, in his statement, said that the sales value recorded exceeded RM3.125 million.

Meanwhile, the savings to users through these programmes amounted to RM757,216.

Throughout the span of the programme, a total of 1,876 entrepreneurs under the care of Perlis FAMA were involved and it benefited 64,760 households in the state by allowing them to get essential goods at lower prices.

Agro MADANI programmes were held at retail outlets, farmer markets, state-level FAMA office grounds, selected mosques as well as programme premises and locations with government agencies.

The Special Agro MADANI Sempadan programme was also implemented in two locations, namely the Solahudin Al Ayyubi Mosque, Padang Besar and the Nurul Husna Mosque, Wang Kelian.
