PADANG BESAR, August 23 -Department of Information Malaysia (JaPen) Perlis distributed over 1,000 Jalur Gemilang to local residents to foster national pride and unity in conjunction with National Day and make the 1 Rumah 1 Jalur Gemilang Campaign a success.
The Jalur Gemilang distribution programme was carried out at eight locations alongside a convoy involving eight vehicles visiting key locations such as Pasar Besar Sena and Felda Rimba Mas.
Perlis JaPen Director Mazli Hamdan said the campaign aims to engage citizens from various backgrounds and inspire them to celebrate their country’s independence.
"The Flying the Jalur Gemilang campaign is also the best platform to inspire the people, especially the younger generation, to appreciate and maintain the peace of the nation.
"The community's support in making this campaign a success can also foster unity and remind the younger generation of the true meaning of the independence achieved by the nation and the sacrifices of our past heroes in liberating the country," Mazli said.
He said this during the Sana Sini Jalur Gemilang Walkabout Programme in Perlis, which was carried out around the Kangar and Padang Besar Parliamentary Constituencies together with the Indera Kayangan Assemblyman, Gan Ay Ling.
This convoy was also joined by officers and staff of RTM Perlis, BERNAMA, the National Security Council, the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission."
