RTM recognised among the world's 30 best broadcasters, proof of successful digital transformation

ALOR SETAR, May 4 - The success of Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) being listed in Triton Digital's Global Streaming Rankers for March 2025 proves that the country's leading broadcasting station remains relevant and continues to excel on the world stage.

People in Kedah who were met described RTM as an agency that has successfully adapted to current challenges through continuous digital transformation, thus proving that it is no longer just a rural viewing outlet.

Azman Hassan, an entrepreneur, said the success dispelled the notion that RTM is only of interest to a certain group of people.

“I congratulate RTM for successfully winning the 30th global digital award. With this digital technology, we can watch and listen to RTM anywhere. In this day and age, by using a cellphone, you can access RTM even if you are abroad,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mohd Badrulhisham Mohd Saad, a businessman, believes that this success proves that RTM is now more advanced in terms of delivering information with the digital platform as the main hub.

“With today's digitisation, RTM has reached a level where information can be accessed more easily and quickly at their fingertips. This digitisation really helps the community get accurate and detailed information,” he said.

The outstanding achievement is considered a historic moment for Malaysia as RTM stands alongside the world's leading digital audio broadcasters including renowned networks from the United States, Europe and Latin America.

According to the latest data, RTM is currently ranked 30th worldwide with an average active session (AAS) of 9,630 – indicating that on average there are 9,630 unique active listening sessions on RTM's digital stream throughout March 2025.
