SUBANG JAYA, April 3 – The Road Transport Department (RTD) has opened a Mobile Counter at the Putra Heights Mosque Hall Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) to make it easier for fire victims to obtain replacements of important documents for free.
Documents that can be obtained include driving licences, vehicle ownership certificates and motor vehicle licences, without having to file a police report
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative aims to ease the burden of victims who have lost documents due to the fire.
"All these documents can be printed for free without any bureaucracy. Normally, the procedure requires a police report, but today we are making it easier for victims, they only need to provide their name and identity card number, and the documents will be printed for free," he said after inspecting the Putra Heights Mosque Hall PPS, here.
The counter will operate until Friday and can be extended if there is a need.
Meanwhile, the Carro vehicle sales company donated 30 cars to the affected residents to facilitate their movement.
In addition, Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) through the Prasarana Prihatin program is providing six free Rapid KL On-Demand van services to assist fire victims in their daily affairs.
