PROTAC showcases cultural heritage and local tourism attractions

KUALA KANGSAR, September 3 - Various tourism, artistic and cultural activities are organized by the Malaysian Tourism, Creativity and Culture Vision Organization (PROTAC) to highlight cultural heritage and promote attractive tourist destinations within the country.

PROTAC Chairman Datuk Mohamad Kamil Shafie stated that the organization which was established in May has organized various programs including art exhibitions, promotion of tourism areas as well as programs to highlight new talent in the field of arts and culture.

"We (PROTAC) are planning to organize a cultural and tourism carnival in Kuala Kangsar next December, and we also aim to publish a book on the uniqueness of our cultural heritage," he said after the organization's launch ceremony today.

The ceremony was officiated by Perak Communications, Multimedia and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Committee Chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi.

Meanwhile, Mohd Azlan in his speech highlighted the establishment of PROTAC as an important strategic step in the growth of the tourism industry.

"With the existence of PROTAC, we hope to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors and further strengthen the tourism network and improve the promotion of attractive destinations.

"I am confident with the continued cooperation and commitment, PROTAC will be the main catalyst in our efforts to advance the country's tourism and culture industries," he added.
