KUALA TERENGGANU, April 23- The Terengganu State Economic Development Corporation (PMINT) has received a total allocation of RM82.1 million to implement various development programmes across the state.
The funds, provided by the Ministry of Economy, encompass allocations under the 12th Malaysia Plan (Rolling Plan), property management initiatives, public amenity projects, and special development programmes.
PMINT Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Wan Adnan Wan Derahman, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to remain actively involved in key sectors such as housing development, industrial estate expansion, property management, and the promotion of competitive community growth.
Among the latest initiatives is the development of KP Perdana 8, which is scheduled to be launched in the third quarter of this year. The project involves the construction of 140 residential units featuring modern, contemporary designs, located in Kuala Terengganu.
“In addition to the RM82.1 million, a further RM46 million in development funding has been approved through federal allocations, including from the Ministry of Economy and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA),” Datuk Wan Adnan said during a press conference earlier today.
He explained that these funds will be used for infrastructure enhancement in several existing industrial zones, such as the Gong Badak, Kerteh, and Dungun Industrial Estates.
Datuk Wan Adnan addressed the media following the official logo launch ceremony in celebration of PMINT’s 60th anniversary and in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration, officiated by the Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, held at Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI).
In line with the ongoing development efforts, TTI will also be introducing three new attractions to further boost tourism during the upcoming TTI Tourism Year 2025. These include enhancements to the Islamic World Monument, the Maritime Gallery, and the Lumina Life experience.
Meanwhile, PMINT has been entrusted by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) to lead a housing rehabilitation initiative. This responsibility is being handled through PMINT’s Technical Services Division, which acts as the implementing agency.
Datuk Wan Adnan further noted that PMINT has also been tasked with resolving legal documentation for delayed housing projects. This includes the issuance of Certificates of Fitness for Occupation (CFO) and Certificates of Completion and Compliance (CCC), supported by a RM3.3 million allocation.
This initiative not only helps to revive abandoned housing projects but also brings renewed hope to homebuyers. It reflects the government’s broader aspiration to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality housing for the people.
