GEORGE TOWN, Nov 1- A fire engulfed a garage in George Town, Penang today, destroying 11 motorcycles.

The incident occured at Lengkok Kampung Jawa 2 in Bayan Lepas.

The blaze, which broke out early morning, also wrecked a lorry parked near the garage.

Fortunetely , no casualties or injuries were reported.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department Operations Centre said that they received an emergency call at 6.51 am, prompting the first fire engine from the Bayan Baru Fire and Rescue Station to respond swiftly to the scene.

It said the fire was completely extinguished by 7.30 am.

The cause of the fire, and the estimated total losses, are still under investigation.
