PUTRAJAYA, May 2 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, received a full ceremonial official welcome during her inaugural visit to Malaysia at the Perdana Putra Building here today.
Her arrival at 9:00 AM was greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, followed by the national anthems of both countries being played as a symbol of respect.
President Osmani then inspected the honor guard consisting of 103 members and three officers from the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD).
According to Wisma Putra, both leaders are expected to discuss various issues of mutual interest at regional and international levels, including Malaysia's ASEAN chairmanship this year.
Discussions will also focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and people-to-people connectivity between the two countries.
In a historic moment, President Osmani awarded the "Order of Independence," the highest award of the Republic of Kosovo, to the Prime Minister in appreciation of Malaysia's continued support for Kosovo's sovereignty and independence, as well as its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister will also host an official luncheon at the Seri Perdana Complex as part of the visit's agenda.
