ALOR SETAR, April 29 - The Ministry of Public Works (KKR) has given an assurance that it will ensure that every project under its supervision is implemented according to schedule and achieves the target of zero sick projects.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said that every project implemented must be completed "Ahead Of Time" (AOT) and not "Extension Of Time' (EOT).
In this regard, he wants every project worth RM20 million and below to be under the supervision of a district engineer, projects worth RM20 million and above under the supervision of the Public Works Department (JKR) director and special general building projects worth hundreds of millions under the supervision of the Public Works Department (JKR) headquarters.
"At the same time, the people can receive services earlier than expected. And another zero sick projects, zero sick projects, this project is 60 days behind schedule or 20 percent behind, we do not want. We want to zero out previous sick projects, therefore the projects must be managed properly," Ahmad Maslan told reporters in a series of field trips to Kedah, here.
Up to now, it is estimated that there are 3.5 percent sick project problems nationwide. The four sick projects in Kedah include the Sik Court development project, Bedong Memorial House, Padang Serai Health Clinic and projects under the Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA).
