KEDA strengthens ties with local leaders for rural development

KULIM, March 16 - The Kedah Regional Development Authority (KEDA) needs to ensure good relations with local community leaders in implementing its efforts to develop the socio-economic and human capital of rural communities.

Chairman of the Kulim/Bandar Baharu Parliamentary GiatMara, Datuk Muhar Hussain said it was important to ensure that strategic development could be implemented and assistance could be channeled to those who really need it and meet the requirements.

He said that the approach taken by KEDA so far, namely discussing and maintaining good relations with local community leaders, must be continued so that the assistance that will be channeled is precisely those who really need it and meet the application requirements.

"In fact, by involving local leaders, the community can be mobilized to make social activities organized by KEDA or other government agencies a success," he said when opening the 2025 KEDA Madani Iftar event at the Surau At-Taqwa compound, Desa KEDA Dingin, Mahang, Kulim.

Also present was KEDA Deputy Chairman, Datuk Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman.

At the event, 30 food baskets were also donated to selected recipients consisting of the less fortunate among the residents of Desa KEDA Dingin and Kampung Dingin which are located next to Desa KEDA.
