KUALA LUMPUR, Nov16- Malaysia’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team made history by becoming the champions of the IESF Esports World Championship after defeating the Philippines 2-0 in the final match held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, yesterday.
The national team, predominantly comprised of players from Selangor Red Giants, was led by Muhd Qayyum Ariffin Mohd Suhairi (Yums), Muhd Haqqullah Ahmad Shahrul Zaman (Sekys), Haziq Danish Mohd Rizwan (Stormie), Ilman Zareef Zulkifli (Gojes), and JP Niners’ Gold Laner, Ealtond Rayner (Lolealz).
The team started strong in the first match, securing a 17-14 victory after nearly 22 minutes of intense gameplay.
In the second match, Malaysia initially appeared shaky but managed to refine their strategy, ultimately winning 9-4 to clinch their maiden championship title at the tournament.
As champions, the Malaysian team took home a cash prize of USD 70,000.
