PUTRAJAYA, Dec 5- The government and the agencies involved need to act faster to realize the transformation plan that has been drawn up.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the matter was important to ensure the country's basic needs were in a strong state. This takes into account Malaysia's role as ASEAN Chairman 2025.
According to him, among the cores of the ASEAN Chairmanship next year include the ASEAN Energy Grid, Digital Network, in addition to Food Technology.
"Sometimes the work is slow, for me how are we going to improve the energy transition, digital transformation, AI (artificial intelligence), when the basic things built in the country cannot be completed", he said when speaking at the Finance Ministry's Staff Assembly in Putrajaya.
In his speech, the prime minister referred to the results of the 4th National Digital Economy and Industrial Revolution Council Meeting, which took place yesterday.
It is related to the delay of several agencies involved in managing the implementation of MyDigital as well as negotiations between Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) and telecommunication companies which have not shown positive development.
Commenting further, the Anwar also apologized to the ministers and agencies present in the meeting.
He said, pressure was given considering that some issues arose involving the implementation of some initiatives that have not shown progress.
