SELANGOR, Oct 28- Families of inmates are allowed to visit in conjunction with this year's Deepavali celebration on the third and fourth day of the festival.
It is for all prisons, Moral Rehabilitation Centers, Special Rehabilitation Centers, Special Detention Centers and Henry Gurney Schools.
In a statement, The Malaysian Prisons Department informed that priority visits are given to Hindu inmates.
The statement also mentioned that, in addition to the face-to-face method, online meetings are also allowed for a period of third days starting from November 4 to 6.
"For families who choose the face-to-face method, visiting hours start from 8.15am to 4.15pm by bringing the Visit Card and Identification Card, " the statement read.
"Visitors are subject to the Prison Act and Regulations which allow the prison authorities to conduct a physical examination when entering and leaving the prison," it added.
The Prison Department also informed that visitors are not encouraged to give money to the inmates, since all basic facilities have been provided.
It said if wishing to do so for certain matters such as payment of examination fees and other matters, visitors are requested to obtain an official receipt from the PPT. 28 as a declaration of acceptance.
