KUALA LUMPUR, 13 March - Sabah, Sarawak and southern Peninsular Malaysia are expected to experience continuous rain from 18 to 21 March.

Director-General of the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip, said the phenomenon is due to a monsoon surge that is expected to enter the country's region starting this Monday, 17 March.

"This situation has the potential to cause strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea, as well as continuous rain in the affected areas," he said in a statement today.

According to him, continuous rain warnings will be issued when weather forecast models reach a high level of confidence.
