ALOR SETAR, Nov 27– A total of 30% out of 249,966 eligible students in Kedah have yet to redeem the MADANI Book Vouchers, according to Kedah State Education Department Director, Ismail Othman.
He stated that, so far, 70% or 174,441 students have completed their redemption.
Efforts are actively being undertaken by the State Education Department, district offices, and schools to ensure the remaining eligible students redeem their vouchers promptly.
"We are confident that the 100% redemption target can be achieved by 31 November, although the actual deadline is 31 December," he told RTM.
The MADANI Book Voucher Programme, with an allocation of RM290 million by the Federal Government, is expected to benefit more than 3.5 million students nationwide.
Under this programme, primary school students from Year 4 and above receive vouchers worth RM50, while secondary school students and post-secondary students, including those in Form Six Colleges, Vocational Colleges, Matriculation Colleges, and the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia (IPGM), receive RM100.
Parents and students who have yet to redeem their vouchers are urged to do so before the deadline.
