2025 will see Malaysia take its turn as ASEAN Chairman

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24- The rotation of the position of Asean chairman is a reflection of the agreement of a decades-old organization that exists in shaping the prosperity and agreement of southeast Asian countries as members since Asean was established on August 8, 1967.

Marian Awor spoke with Security and Political analyst at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM), Center for Media and Information Warfare Studies, Dr. Noor Nirwandy Mat Noordin regarding the Asean 2025 Chairman's foundation for Malaysia's rise to the 'World' together.

According to Dr. Noor Nirwandy, Malaysia under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is increasing its dignity and status on the international scene.

Strictly speaking, under the framework of MADANI Malaysia, the aspiration to build a great civilization begins to bear measurable results when Malaysia as Asean Chairman 2025 is seen to arrive on time.

"This all not just about all the element of Asean, that focus on the issues of Malaysia Chairman of Asean.

"Asean must look also under the Asean Chairmanship by Malaysia, particularly by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to look into the issue of people's centric development as part of the human security value, one of the foundation under the office coordination of the foreign affairs," He told RTM's recently.

Various parties give the view that Malaysia will show its true potential as a great country respected by the world.

According to him, the sentiment of Malaysians is also becoming more positive with the rise of the Malaysian economy being on the right track.

"So, this is something like Malaysia, we have to take pride because it bring our regions, our country, to become a regional leader and strengthen our value ass Malaysian citizen, and Malaysian country, " he added.

"We do believes that Malaysian as citizen, we need to be part of this, we need to be proud that we earn as regional leader."

Dr Noor Irwandy also reiterated that strengthening unity leads to socio-economic prosperity which will make Malaysia as Asean chairman 2025 very special.
