16,000 additional domestic flights in conjunction with Aidilfitri - AirAsia

Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra

SEPANG, March 31– AirAsia is adding extra domestic flights with a total of 16,000 seats in celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, ensuring more Malaysians can return to their hometowns.

AirAsia Malaysia Chief Executive Officer Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra stated that the airline will offer 663,000 seats between March 26 and April 6.

Currently, 85 percent of these seats have been booked, and passengers are encouraged to check in early using the AirAsia MOVE app, up to 14 days before their flight, to ensure a smoother journey to their destinations.

“This will make things easier for passengers and eliminate issues such as missing boarding passes. For domestic flights, a valid identity card is sufficient, but for international flights, a passport is required,” Fareh Mazputra explained.

He also reminded passengers to arrive at the airport three hours ahead of their flight to avoid any potential delays, especially during peak hours.

In preparation for the busy period, the airline has increased operational staff at the airport on March 30 and April 1. This includes 1,226 pilots and 2,264 cabin crew members from five domestic hubs: Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Penang.
