Fishermen in Pahang receive cash aid from Prime Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, February 28 - Fishermen in Pahang who have been affected in their income due to months of being unable to earn a living because of rough sea conditions continue to receive the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Among those affected is a senior citizen, Mohammad Kasim, 61, from Kampung Baru Cherating, Kuantan.

In a Facebook post by the Prime Minister's Political Secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, which was shared by Anwar, it was reported that fisherman Mohammad Kasim received a cash donation delivered by Ahmad Farhan at his home recently.

"The sea, which used to be his source of income, now seems to have closed off opportunities, causing his earnings to drop drastically," the post stated.

Ahmad Farhan also informed that his team, in collaboration with the Pahang Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), will help repair the homes for the comfort of affected families.

He also visited a hardworking fisherman from Kampung Darat Sungai Ular, Supian Saman, as part of the MADANI visit.

"Living as a fisherman is not easy, especially when the sea is rough. I have also been informed that for the past four to five months, they have been unable to go out to sea due to strong waves, severely affecting their daily income," he added.
