KUALA LUMPUR, March 7- A total of 37 families in Kampung Sungai Penchala received contributions of Hari Raya clothing, health equipment and food assistance to ease the burden during the month of Ramadan and ahead of the Aidilfitri celebration.
This Ramadan program, the third of its kind, is organized in collaboration with the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Prihatin Nasional Foundation.
Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh, said 172 Hari Raya clothing sets were donated to the recipient families, in addition to 10 glucometers, eight high blood pressure machines, and two wheelchairs.
"For my office's contribution, we contributed Ramadan Baskets for Ramadan preparations at home. So with this assistance, I am sure the burden on the family will be reduced and I hope that with the Raya clothes, the celebration will also be more joyful," she said.
"I would like to thank our strategic partner Prihatin Nasional for helping the Segambut parliamentary constituency," she said to reporters after the Kasih MADANI program in conjunction with the distribution of Raya clothes to deserving families organized by the Prihatin Nasional Foundation at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Penchala.
She added that previously, the Prihatin Nasional Foundation also provided assistance to students in the "Back to School" program and contributions in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration.
