IPOH, April 5 – The distribution of Basic Rahmah Contribution Aid (SARA) which began on April 1 was well received by recipients, especially low-income groups and new recipients.

On average, recipients described the MADANI Government initiative as helping to ease the burden of living costs, daily expenses, especially after the Aidilfitri celebration.

New recipient, Hafizi Zainudin, said the aid received was very helpful after the large expenses incurred during Hari Raya.

“For me, this is very helpful. After spending heavily before Hari Raya, this aid helps in terms of kitchen items for use after Hari Raya,” he told RTM recently.

For Ahmad Syukri Ahmad Bashah, this is the first time he has received SARA aid and described it as very relevant to supporting the daily needs of the B40 group.

“This aid is indeed needed, and with the amount given, we can buy basic necessities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Syahrain said the aid received was more than enough to cover the needs of his household.

“I use cash for personal items, while this assistance helps tremendously to buy dry goods such as soap, rice and basic food,” he said.

Previously, SARA assistance of RM100 per month was credited to recipients' MyKad from January to March 2025.

The amount was later increased to RM200 per month starting April 1, involving 5.4 million recipients nationwide.
