PETALING JAYA, AUGUST 15 - All rail services including the LRT, MRT and Monorail, as well as the BRT Sunway Line and selected bus lines will operate for 24 hours on the night of August 30 in conjunction with the 67th National Day celebration.
Rapik KL informed that the enhanced service was done for the first time as an infrastructure initiative in support of the government's efforts to fuel the National Day celebrations.
"Accordingly, all rail services will operate from 6.00 am on 30 August until 11.30 pm on 31 August 2024.
"Rapid KL will also provide up to 60 free intermediate buses from Putrajaya Sentral MRT Station to Dataran Putrajaya starting at 6.00 pm, 30 August until 3.00 pm, 31 August to facilitate the citizens of the city who want to celebrate the 2024 National Day Celebration that will take place in Putrajaya, " according to Rapid KL through a statement.
Rapid Kl also informed that a total of nine buses will be provided from MRT Putrajaya Sentral to interesting locations around Putrajaya such as the Botanic Gardens, Putrajaya Marina, Alamanda and the Putrajaya International Convention Center on 31 August.
Meanwhile, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Prasarana Group, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah said in the same statement that he will continue to provide the best service to users.
"The infrastructure team is very proud to be able to provide this service for Malaysians. More than 4,000 Rapid KL frontline staff will work in shifts to ensure smooth 24-hour operations and provide a good travel experience in conjunction with Merdeka 2024.
"The 24-hour service can also provide an opportunity for city residents who want to attend the Merdeka celebrations that will be held in several locations around Kuala Lumpur and the National Day Celebration at Putrajaya Square," he said.
Infrastructure team in collaboration with the Putrajaya Corporation and the Royal Malaysian Police will ensure the smoothness of this special bus route is not interrupted and members of the Prasarana Bantuan Police will be assigned to help the organizers for smooth traffic.
Users are also advised to use the Touch 'n Go card and ensure that the balance in the Touch 'n Go card is enough.
