KOTA TINGGI, Jan 11– The Kota Tinggi Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) is prepared to deploy 70 personnel and 10 rescue boats from six stations for flood rescue operations and to assist in relocating affected residents to temporary evacuation centers (PPS).
Fire Superintendent Rasidi Md Yunus, Head of Zone 2, JBPM Johor, stated that as of this morning, they have received strong cooperation from residents in flood-affected areas, who have been relocating to the PPS as advised.
He urged residents, particularly those in low-lying areas, to remain vigilant and heed the advice of rescue teams.
"Rescue agencies are continuously patrolling the flood-prone areas, and I urge residents in high-risk zones to stay updated on the latest flood information in their areas," he said.
He made these remarks after conducting a flood survey in the region.
Rasidi also confirmed that there have been no reports of victims trapped by the flood, and his team has been involved in rescue efforts for the elderly and persons with disabilities (OKU).
