SEPANG, January 24 - The Automated Passenger Train Service (Aerotrain) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is scheduled to operate fully in the second quarter of this year.
Malaysia Airports Managing Director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani stated that it is currently in the final phase of testing and commissioning (T&C).
He mentioned that this phase involves comprehensive verification of stringent safety, operational, and performance requirements.
"This crucial phase ensures that the system meets the highest safety and performance standards ahead of the scheduled service launch in the second quarter of 2025, subject to approval from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) and the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
"Despite initial challenges such as the activation of substations and tracks, this project is nearing completion with a strong emphasis on achieving world-class standards, passenger safety, and service reliability," he said.
He made these remarks to reporters during the KLIA Aerotrain Project Media Briefing and Visit in Sepang.
