KKDW monitors the adequacy of basic infrastructure, social facilities

Datuk Rubiah Wang

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 - The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) constantly monitors the adequacy of basic infrastructure and social facilities through the internal project monitoring system and the MyProject system.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang said that close cooperation with local authorities and development committees is being carried out to meet the needs of rural residents.

"Data published by Statistics Malaysia such as the My Local Statistic Malaysia basic needs survey report and the Malaysian special characteristics system are also used as measurement guides.

"KKDW hopes that with this method, infrastructure and social facilities in rural areas can be comparable to urban areas," he said.

He said this after answering a question from Senator Datuk Koh Nai Kwong regarding the trend of population migration from rural to urban areas and vice versa since 2020 to 2024 as well as an assessment of the adequacy of basic infrastructure and social facilities in rural areas.
