JMG Terengganu monitors location of landslides in Kampung Bukit Apit

TERENGGANU, November 30 - Staff from the Terengganu Department of Minerals and Geosciences Malaysia (JMG) conducted monitoring at the location of a landslide that hit a house in Kampung Bukit Apit, Ajil in Hulu Terengganu.

The monitoring work carried out since last night detected that there were seven active springs in the landslide area, which caused two sisters to die while their brother was injured.

"The distance between the house hit by the landslide and the hill area is 35 meters," according to JMG Terengganu in a statement.

In the incident at about 4.30 pm yesterday, the first victim, Uzair Azman, 17 years old, was found safe under the rubble of a concrete wall in the living room of the house at about 5.17 pm.

The body of Puteri Sajidah was found at 6.32pm and her sister, Siti Fatimah was found at 6.59pm, buried under the rubble.
