KUALA LUMPUR, March 22– The National AI Office (NAIO) under the Digital Ministry today reached its first 100 days of striving to transform Malaysia into an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven nation.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo stressed the government’s aspiration to make Malaysia not just an AI consumer, but an AI creator and innovator capable of creating more quality jobs and increasing the country’s productivity.
"This is just the beginning and all parties must work together to develop an AI-driven Malaysia, to drive the country's competitiveness, economic growth and societal well-being," he said in a statement.
Since its launch on December 12th, NAIO has played a key role in shaping the country's AI landscape, accelerating socio-economic development, and strengthening Malaysia's competitiveness globally.
During these 100 days, NAIO has mobilised AI as a driver of national growth based on four strategic themes, namely AI for Society, AI for a Stronger Economy, AI for Trust and Governance, and AI Talent for National Progress.
