KUALA LUMPUR, 13 April- Several roads around the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be temporarily closed or diverted in conjunction with Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Malaysia.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) in a statement said, 17 routes will be fully closed or diverted in stages starting from 15 to 17 April to facilitate movement of the Chinese President's delegation.

"The closures will last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the movement of the delegation," the statement said.

Among the routes involved are areas in Dengkil, Putrajaya, and around the capital city.

378 police officers and personnel will be deployed for escort, traffic control and enforcement duties during this period.

Following this, JSPT advised road users to reschedule their journeys and use alternative routes to avoid congestion during the road closures and to comply with instructions from the personnel to ensure smooth overall operations.
