KUCHING, 21 April - Nearly 900,000 Jalur Gemilang badges will be distributed to all primary and secondary schools across Sarawak starting this week as part of efforts to foster the spirit of patriotism among students.
According to Sarawak State Education Director, Omar Mahli, the distribution of the badges will be carried out in stages until the end of April, involving a total of 1,460 primary and secondary schools throughout the state.
"Each of the 442,817 students will receive two Jalur Gemilang badges free of charge," he explained, while also noting that the smooth distribution depends on the amount of stock provided by the supplier.
The symbolic ceremony of pinning the Jalur Gemilang badges on student uniforms at the Sarawak state level was officiated by the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM), Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, at an event at SM Agama Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab, Jalan Matang, here,this morning.
