ISKANDAR PUTERI, March 27 – The Johor government stressed that all developers, including those operating in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), will not neglect from their responsibility to build Johor Affordable Housing (RMMJ).
Johor Housing and Local Government Exco, Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, said that since 2022 until now, his team has managed to ensure that developers are committed to building 20,714 RMMJ units, involving 146 projects throughout the state.
He explained that this commitment was achieved through 28 Planning, Development and Design Committee (PDRC) meetings held with developers.
“The meetings involved 114 developers for RMMJ projects in ten districts in Johor, involving 16 Local Authorities (PBT), 26 Parliamentary constituencies, and 50 State Legislative Assembly (DUN) constituencies,” he said.
He added that the state government has set a target of 8,000 RMMJ units to be built throughout this year to ensure that the people of Johor, especially the low and middle income groups, have access to affordable housing.
