KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12- The United States (US) government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided a contribution of RM442,817 (USD$100,000) to flood-affected residents in Malaysia.
The assistance was channeled through the Malaysian Red Crescent Society in efforts to provide flood relief efforts for affected communities.
"Our thoughts are with those affected by the devastating floods in Malaysia. Together, we're helping communities recover and rebuild," the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said in a Facebook post.
This reflects the close cooperation between the two countries in dealing with disasters and ensuring the well-being of the people is taken care of.
"Weextend our deepest gratitude to the first responderswho are saving lives, reducing suffering ad protecting the most vulnerable," the statement added.
The post also featured a 1.18-minute video showing the Malaysian Red Crescent in Kelantan delivering aid to the affected residents.
