The search which entered the third day found the body of Azri Fahmi at 7.45 this morning

JERANTUT, 6 January - The body of a teenager who was feared to have drowned after falling from a raft house into the Pahang River in Kampung Jerantut Feri in Jerantut, was found this morning.

The search which entered the third day found the body of Azri Fahmi Bahiudin Zaiful Afindi, 14, at 7.45 this morning.

Assistant Director of Pahang JBPM Operations and Rescue Division, Mohd Salahuddin Isa, said the body was found when two firemen were doing morning patrol on a boat.

"The victim's body was found floating 900 meters from where he was reported to have fallen and was handed over to the police for further action," he said in a statement.

Last Saturday, the young man was reportedly fishing with two of his friends in a raft house when he slipped into the river and disappeared in the strong current of Sungai Pahang.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was carried out, including using the services of two tracking dogs, Grouse and Lady, to assist the operation.
