BAYAN LEPAS, April 18 – The Ministry of Education (MOE) is conducting an investigation into a male teacher who allegedly sent an obscene link to a female colleague in Johor, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

According to her, the MOE will not tolerate any form of misconduct involving educators, especially sexual misconduct.

“We are conducting an investigation. But as usual, I repeat firmly, the MOE does not compromise with any offense, especially sexual offenses. As I always say, you touch, you go,” she stressed.

She said this in a press conference after the Smartboard Handover Ceremony and Declaration of 100 Percent Smartboard Sponsorship for Penang State Schools at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bayan Lepas, today.

Fadhlina also explained that the investigation will be conducted thoroughly based on existing guidelines and regulations set by the ministry.

“We have made this assertion repeatedly and we will continue to make this assertion from time to time,” she added.

Earlier, on Wednesday, a male teacher was remanded for seven days to assist in investigations into allegations of sending pornographic links to a female colleague.

The arrest was made after the victim came forward to expose the suspect's inappropriate behavior.
