GEORGE TOWN, Jan 9– The suspicious object discovered along Lebuh Sungai Pinang has been confirmed not to contain explosives.
Penang Northeast District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Abdul Rozak Muhammad stated that the object was composed of paper, wire, and cement.
The Bomb Disposal Unit neutralized the object at approximately 11:50 AM.
The area was declared safe, and access was reopened to the public by 12:15 PM.
No injuries or damage to property were reported.
In addition, ACP Abdul Rozak urged the public to refrain from speculating about the incident.
Earlier today, social media was abuzz with reports about a suspicious object resembling explosives found in the area.
