KULAI, March 14 – The Johor Local Authority (PBT) has confiscated six stalls run by foreign nationals at the Ramadan Bazaar as of yesterday for operating without a valid license.
Johor Housing and Local Government Exco, Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, stated that this decisive action was taken at two locations: Iskandar Puteri and Batu Pahat.
He explained that the foreign traders were engaged in selling food and seafood without the necessary permits.
“They entered the bazaar area without authorization. As a result, when enforcement orders were issued to 16 PBTs, inspections were carried out at each stall. We found that these stalls were not on the list of licensed vendors. Upon identification, immediate seizure actions were taken,” he said during an inspection of the Ramadan Bazaar on Jalan Merbau in Kulai.
In a related matter, Mohd Jafni also clarified that the firecracker seizure in Pontian on March 10 occurred because the traders lacked both a valid PBT license and the required police permit.
