PENDANG, December 27- Three people died in an accident involving three vehicles on the Alor Pudak-Titi Haji Idris road in Kedah last night.
Kubang Pasu District Police Chief, Superintendent Rodzi Abu Hassan, stated that among the deceased were a husband and wife aged 34 and 52, as well as a 14-year-old male student.
Rodzi mentioned that the accident involved a car and two motorcycles.
Initial investigations show that the accident occurred around 11.20 pm when a 31-year-old driver was traveling from Ayer Hitam towards Sungai Tiang, Pendang.
A student riding a motorcycle overtook the car on the right side of the road and collided with the motorcycle ridden by the husband and wife coming from the opposite direction.
As a result of the collision, the passenger on the motorcycle, who worked as a food stall assistant, was thrown into the right lane and was struck by the car that was traveling straight.
All riders and passengers were confirmed dead at the scene, while the car driver sustained no injuries.
The bodies of all three victims were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital's Forensic Department in Alor Setar for autopsy before being claimed by their families.
