No storage permit: Controlled goods worth almost RM11,000 seized

IPOH, Nov 6- Controlled goods worth almost early RM11,000 were seized yesterday, in a raid at a premises in Kuala Sepetang, Taiping by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

According to the Ministry's Perak Enforcement Director, Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, the goods were seized after a 79-year-old local man, who claimed to be the owner of the premises, failed to produce the storage permit as required under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

The seized goods were 104 tanks of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 19 bottles of cooking oil, 40 kilogrammes (km) cooking oil in packets, 132kg sugar, and 396kg  wheat flour.

The total worth of the items seized is RM10,935.70, he said in a statement today.

Traders who use and store scheduled controlled goods, especially sugar, cooking oil, wheat flour and LPG gas, were warned to obtain storage permits to avoid action by KPDN.
