LUNDU, Nov 17th- The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is calling on all ministries, agencies and state governments to work together to make November a National Family Month.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, said the implementation of Family Day activities in every government ministry and agency should be made a mandatory annual event, especially throughout the month of November.
"So far, three ministries have implemented their respective Family Day programmes, namely the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Works, and the Ministry of Economy," she said.
For the private sector, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and communities, she encouraged the implementation of family welfare programmes in accordance with their respective capacities.
She said this when officiating the ‘Kasih Keluarga Camp’ programme and the state level for 2024 National Family Month Celebration in Lundu, Sarawak.
Nancy also stated that family institutions are now faced with various challenges which affect their daily lives.
"These challenges include taking care of the family's health and well-being, balancing career and family time, as well as meeting financial needs," she said.
