PUTRAJAYA, April 22 - Media platforms are important instruments and strategic platforms to publicise matters related to waqf, build positive narratives and instill community understanding of waqf's potential as an instrument for ummah development.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr. Mohd Naim Mokhtar said the instruments act in conveying the context of waqf development as well as providing the latest information so that it is more credible, especially among the community.

It is also seen as capable of achieving the Islamic development agenda, especially expanding public understanding and support for the waqf institution in Malaysia.

"What the Malaysia Waqf Foundation (YWM) has done has benefited tens of thousands of individuals. This is dueto the waqf instrument that has been introduced," he said.

He said this at the YWM Appreciation Ceremony with the Media here.

At the same ceremony, he also presented the 2024 Excellent Service Award, the 2024 Chief Executive Officer Award and the Special Award: The Most Outstanding Achievement Award to YWM officers.

In addition, he also presented a donation in the form of a cheque worth RM2,500 to the Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Media Club and the Putrajaya Media Club.
