KUALA NERUS, March 14- A man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was struck from behind by a car on Jalan Alor Jambu here at around 9.15 pm last night.

The District Police Chief of Kuala Terengganu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Azli Mohd Noor, stated that in the incident, the victim, Muhamad Ali, 48, was on his way from his home in Padang Kemunting heading towards Padang Nenas.

According to Azli, the accident caused the victim to suffer serious injuries before being rushed to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for treatment.

However, the victim was pronounced dead in the emergency ward, while the 22-year-old driver of the car did not sustain any injuries.

In this regard, the police are requesting witnesses of the incident to come forward with information to assist in the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
